Success Story: One Day At A Time
My husband and I have been married for 4 years. We have been trying to get pregnant for almost 2 years now. In May we decided to go see a fertility specialist. We found out that I do not ovulate and that my husband has a low sperm count. The specialist decided that we should do the IVF-ICSI procedure. At one point my husband had to give me 3 shots a night to help me ovulate. We did the egg retrieval on 10/31/07 and then the transfer on 11/3/07. Going into the transfer we had only 5 on-going embryos so the doctor decided to transfer 3 instead of 2 which he had originally planned. The thought of triplets was scary, but we figured we would take what we could get. We had to wait 11 long days before we could take the blood test to see if we were pregnant. Then, on 11/15/07 I got the bad news that the IVF didn't work. Unfortunatly, we only have one embryo that they were able to freeze. We go back to the specialist tomorrow to discuss our options. I am very sad that our first try with IVF wasn't successful. But, I am able to find comfort in knowing that God has a plan for us and will provide us with a child when the time is right. Until then, we have to take it one day at a time.
