Hi, I've heard that taking the body temp. daily helps with predicting ovulation.
I have been taking my temp. every morning at the same time (around 5:30 -6am) because of my work schedules differ. My question is, does my husband and I need to have intercourse as soon as my temp rises that early in the morning, or anytime during that day? I think what our problem is, is our timing... we're not exactly sure when the "best times" are.
any suggestions??
thanks, kt

Hi, Once you have detected the temperature increase you have already ovulated and you may have missed your fertile window. The temperature increases because the corpus luteum (which is where the egg came from) is producing progesterone which means the egg has flown the coup. You should try the the ovulation predictor kits it will tell you when you will ovulate at least 24 hours in advance this is your most fertile time not after your temp spikes because the egg may have disintegrated by the time you detect the increase. Having said that at least you know your ovulating and you can get thoses tests for pretty cheap at any drug store GOOD LUCK
