HI DR Jacobs, What is the difference between Clomid verses Nolvadex ? They are both anti estrogens right? I never get pregnant on Clomid , And never got pregnant off of Femara , But I did get pregnant off of Nolvadex, But had chemical pregnancy, Why did Nolvadex work on me but the other two didn't.Thank You

I am not familiar with Nolvadex, by that name, and have not looked it up, yet. I am sorry that I do not have an answer to your question, at this time.

Tamoxen and clomipen (Clomid) are related compounds with similar mechanisms of action. There are likely to be subtle differences in the way they modify the response of the estrogen receptor. I have not read a detailed description of these differences, but I can tell you that they both block the estrogen receptor, and at the same time have some limited stimulatory effect.
