Smoking, Viagra Hurt Male Fertility - 06/02/2007
A Canadian study has found evidence that exposure to cigarette smoke leads to genetic mutations in sperm.
In addition, the study in which mice were used found that babies can inherit this damage from the father.
The study findings reinforce the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in order to ensure proper sperm health.
In a separate study based in Belfast, researchers found that the use of Viagra led to decreased male fertility. Researchers found that a single 100 milligram dose of Viagra had a negative impact on sperm's ability to fertilize an egg. This raises concerns regarding the increasingly recreational use of Viagra common among men today.
