Improve Sperm Quality By Having More Sex, Study Suggests - 10/25/2007
A recent study suggests that
men can improve their sperm quality by engaging in regular intercourse. Yes, that's right. More sex is good. The Australian study showed that frequent sex could increase reproductive success for men whose partners' couldn't conceive because of poor sperm quality. The study looked at 42 men who had an
infertile history of unsuccessful conception and sperm damage. Fertility specialists from Sydney IVF found that the men had an average of 30.8 percent genetic sperm damage after abstaining from sex for three days. Whereas, after engaging in daily sex for a week, their genetic damage fell to 12.8 percent. However, their sperm count reduced by one-third with daily sex. Suggesting daily sex is a good idea for men who have a normal sperm count but a defective sperm makeup.
